1st Dec. Day 6 Aruba, Overnight Stay

This morning we were not going to wake up in a port but later today at around 4pm we were going to arrive in Aruba and we will be staying there overnight and staying there until 5pm the following day. So with that in mind nobody was in any rush to get up early today and some of us didn’t even make breakfast. This was mainly due to the fact that we booked a speciality restaurant for lunch today at 1pm as we were going on a excursion on a 120ft schooner later when we arrived at Aruba. A few of us went up on deck for a few hours sun bathing before going back to the rooms to get showered and dressed for a fancy lunch in the Tuscan Grille and it was really nice because as it was during the day, it was so nice to look out over the sea as this restaurant sits right at the back of the ship. We stayed in there for quite some time enjoying the drinks and food and then eventually we headed back to the rooms to chill out for a few hours and wait to arrive in port and then off to our excursion a hour later. We eventually walked off the ship at about 5pm and was led to the schooner along with around 45 others, its was now looking ok weather wise, but literally an hour ago it was windy and pouring with rain we really did not expect to see any sun, least of all clear skies, so we set off for our sunset cruise.
We could not believe that the sun was not only visible it was going to stay visible right down to the horizon. We all really enjoyed the cruise especially as it had a open bar, we even got 2 bottles of Champagne as they asked if there we any birthdays onboard and we explain we had 3. We got back to the ship at around 7:30pm and it was our intension to stay out and find a bar and enjoy seeing the ship at night, but Lorna had dropped a glass of Champagne all over her shorts on the boat so we all went back to the room first so she could change. We eventually got back off the ship and walked into town and found a bar, we only stayed for 1 drink mainly because we now had to pay for the drinks and they didn’t have what we wanted, but we got the view we wanted. As we had been out at diner time we needed food so after the drink we headed back to the ship and went straight up to the 14th floor and the Ocean View Restaurant for some more food. OMG we are going to explode soon, after this not sure why, but we all called it a night and went back to our rooms, it was only 10:30pm and in fact it was really only 9:30pm as we put the clocks forward 1 hour last night. Anyway never mind all the food and drink is slowing us down and we all need our beds early OMG what do we sound like.
